Old Business: None New Business: Update on Brookings County sirens: Hill confirmed the new circuit boards have been ordered. Stratton shared all sirens went off with no problems for the scheduled test. Hill mentioned Lake Poinsett State Park received a federal grant for the purchase of 4 sirens: two this year and two the following year. Watertown will control them. Oakwood State Park would like to install a siren. Hill suggested they request a grant and install a rotating siren verses a cone siren. The cone siren would only work for the park. The rotating siren would work for the whole lake community and be controlled by the City of Brookings. We would have to update our board if this were to happen. Larson asked if there is a siren located around Lake Campbell. Hill said no. The County’s Strategic Plan will evaluate Lake Campbell and Lake Hendricks for sirens. Hill suggested installing one on 20th Ave. So. by Bowes Construction to accommodate the new Nature Center. Weldon suggested installing the other one on South Main at the new Fire Station site. Weldon asked if the age of the current sirens was known. Hill said no, which is why the boards are being updated. Hartman commented they are around 15 years old. Discussion on SDSU siren: Hill received a call from the SDSU Emergency Manager requesting to have control of the siren located on campus. Hill asked for a written request and has not heard back. Hill believes this siren is part of the Brookings community which serves SDSU residents as well as Brookings residents and the City should remain in control of this siren. Update on Zuercher (RMS): Erickson informed the committee training has been completed and the go live date is set for Tuesday, April 22nd. Member Reports Hill provided an update on the table top exercise. There were 21 people in attendance and involved reviewing a national disaster incident.
