HomeMy WebLinkAboutE911Minutes_2014_01_23East Central Communications Council Meeting Brookings Police Department Thursday, January 23rd, 2014 9:30am Board members present: Jeff Weldon (City Manager) Others present: Jeff Miller (BPD), Dave Erickson (BPD), Bob Hill (County Zoning Office), Mark Stratton (Communications), Marty Stanwick (SO) and Darrell Hartmann (Fire Dept.). Members Absent: Tom Yseth (County Commission), Don Larson (County Commission), and Jael Thorpe (City Council). Call to order: No motions were made; quorum not represented. Addition to the Agenda: none Bills: Jeff Miller reviewed non-recurring bills. No motions made; quorum not represented. Old Business: Update on RMS: Erickson provided an update for the board. Grant money should be received this week. Details were shared on the configuration and organizing a build team from both agencies. The go live date is set for August. J. Miller mentioned the Justice maintenance fee was budgeted for this year. The fee was paid through the end of the year, in the instance there are any hiccups with the conversion. Miller has not mentioned leaving CMI to the owners and is unsure on the procedure. Weldon stated there might be some language or written agreement in the contract on termination. New Business: Sirens: Hill stated grant for the upgrade to digital has been approved. Clites Electric will be present when the sirens are worked on, so they can be trained on maintenance issues. Member Reports Hill mentioned the EOC supplies have arrived. Weldon asked about the dispatch staffing. Miller stated an additional dispatcher position will be opened on July 1st, 2014. He clarified this will not get to the required 24/7 two person coverage. Stratton suggested another part-time person would work. Next meeting: April 17, 2014 at 8:30am Regular quarterly meetings are held in January, April, July, and October on the third Thursday of the month. Budget discussion is held in May.
