Members present: Kurt Cogswell, Amy Fry, Dona Kornboun\ Nancy Hortenof[ Lynda Mo|k*r David Be,*e|son,Marla Muxen. Emily Bennett, Roger Seas, and Sue Parrott. Absent members: Allen Muller and Kay Cutler. Shari Dunn, City Clerk, was present. Chairman Cogswell called the meeting toorder ofP'ODuu� Dona Kumboumwas welcomed os the newest member to the Committee. Discussion regarding ostudent from Bangladesh was added tothe agenda. Minutes. Thursday, February I It at 8:00 a.m. Focus for Abilities, Jan -Feb 200l; The ADA Today, Fall 2000;ADA Guide for Small Towns; The ADA & City Governments Discussion of Goals & Objectives for 2001 and Calendar of Events. The 2001 City Budget Narrative was distributed to the members. A draft schedule of events for the year was reviewed. Barrier Awareness Da)Ls. A\oxenneported that Brookings High School students under the direction ofJolene Dunbar are again available this year towork onthe project. Moadditional help from college students will beneeded this year. Attendance bycommittee members hooversee the event would be welcomed. The event is tentatively scheduled for the week of k400h 51h. Additional time will bescheduled for &4edurySchool. Press releases will beprepared. Photographing the activities was suggested. |twas noted that Easter Seals might have activities and information that may be helpful. Homeshow 2001. The Brookings Area Homeshoxv is scheduled for March lD and 11 at the Multiplex. Booth sizes are 8x 10 and 1 0x1 0. Website. Donn reported that the City is actively working on a dfv website. Committee website Summer Arts Festival Committee. 8ertebonand Nuxenoffered ioattend the monthly committee meetings that one held at 7:00 p.m. on the first Wednesday at Artworks. Chamber Advertisement. Parrott offered to work onthis project. Copy must behothe City Clerk on or before the second Tuesday at noon. Accessible Van. Cogswell reported that the City Manager has invited entities involved in transportation to a meeting to discuss the needs in Brookings. Accessibility to Healthcare Services for Persons with Disabilities. It was noted for the minutes that the students that brought the inaccessibility issues to the Committee's attention were notified of the results. The Brookings Clinic will correct the problem this spring. The Brookings Hospital has installed signage. ADA Coordinator's Repo . No report.
