City Council will look at a potential remedy for these present and future occurrences. Fortunately, progress is being made at this time. Follow up on N.O.D. Application Ideas: The subcommittee was preparing an award application, but decided we are not ready to apply because we lack in a few areas such as publicity, accessibility, etc. Other award recipients have achieved some wonderful things that our committee would like to look into doing. The committee will gather a database of information consisting of names, projects and get a feel for what other communities are doing. A subcommittee was formed to meet and find out if restaurants, hotels, stores etc. would be interested in using symbols and Braille in their businesses as well as add to the Visitor's Guide on business that are accessible. Dona reported that the Frost Arena is not handicap accessible and Kurt suggested a sight visit. Lois added that the planning committees who partake in the construction of buildings, etc. should walk through it themselves as if they would have a handicap. This would alleviate accessible issues. ADA Coordinator's Report/Announcements: Shari reported the Design Works Streetscape project will give it's final presentation on Tuesday at The City Council meeting at 5:30p.m. Shari reported that there have been two more phone calls in addition to the one from Arlington re: the 3' party review. The committee has declined the request. The South Dakota Coalition of Citizens with Disabilities is holding a fundraiser. Meeting adjourned at 3:00 p.m. Submitted by Lisa Sonnenburg
