HomeMy WebLinkAbout2019_04_16 CC MinutesBrookings City Council April 16, 2019 The Brookings City Council held a meeting on Tuesday, April16, 2019 at 5:06PM, at City Hall with the following City Council members present: Mayor Keith Corbett, Council Members Mary Kidwiler, Dan Hansen, and Patty Bacon. Council Members Holly Tilton Byrne, Nick Wendell, and Ope Niemeyer were absent. Acting City Manager Erick Rangel, City Attorney Steve Britzman, and Acting City Clerk Bonnie Foster were also present. Resolution 19-034. A motion was made by Council Member Bacon, seconded by Council Member Hansen, that Resolution 19-034, a Resolution Canvassing the April 9, 2019 Municipal Election, be approved. The motion carried by the following vote: Yes: 4-Hansen, Kidwiler, Bacon, and Corbett; Absent: 3-Niemeyer, Wendell, and Tilton Byrne. Resolution 19-034-Canvassing the April 9, 2019 Municipal Election Whereas, on the 9th day of April, 2019, there was held in the City of Brookings, South Dakota, an election for the purpose of electing two City Council Members (3-Year Terms); and Whereas, the judges and clerks of said election have returned to the City Council of the City of Brookings the official results for the purpose of the Official Canvass; and Whereas, the City Council on April16, 2019 has canvassed the results for the purpose of determining the official election outcome; and Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved by the City Council of the City of Brookings, South Dakota that the official vote at the City Election held April 9, 2019 was as follows: City Council Holly Leah Mary Total Ballots Total Votes 3-Year Term (2) Tilton Byrne Brink Kidwiler Cast Cast Vote Center 1 196 167 136 296 499 Vote Center 2 218 247 210 382 675 Vote Center 3 68 74 69 120 211 Vote Center 4 64 55 38 92 157 Absentee 225 213 228 407 666 Provisional Ballot 0 0 0 0 0 TOTAL 771 756 681 1,297 2,208 Adjourn.
