RESOLUTIOH N0. 12-92
AMEHDIHG PERSOHHEL POLICY
WHEREAS a comprehensive personnel policy governing the
organizational and operational affairs of the City of Brookings
employees has been adopted by the Brookings City Commission.
WHEREAS the Commission finds that amendments to certain policies
as set forth in said statement should be made.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Brookings City Commission
that the personnel policy be amended as follows:

G. Injury Lease
compensate the employee up to a maximum of �ri�/H��I�Y`��/��i�ri��i/�1Z20Y
�i��lt/�i��� 960 hours per accident at the rate of pay he/she was making
at the time of the accident, less the amount he/she receivea from
Worker's Compensation. After the �ri�/HdtI�Y`��/��i�ri��i/�lY20Y/���i 960
hours per accident, the employee may elect to use accumulated sick
leave and/or vacation credits to continue receiving hie/her full pay.
Should the employee not elect such action or should he/ehe exhaust all
accumulated credits, he/she may apply for disability under provisions
of the Worker's Compensation Act or the Retirement Fund. Once the
employee ie no longer receiving full compensation 'from the City,
he/she will be eligible to receive compensation payable under the
Worker's Compensation Act in addition to eligible retirement benefits.
All vacation, sick leave, and holiday leave earned while on injury
shall accrue at the employee's regular rate.

All employees receiving the South Dakota Retirement System benefit
(including Fire and Police Department) who retire early or are
eligible for receiving SDRS disability benefits, are eligible for
payment of 50% of the total cost for the group health and life
insurance plan offered by the City.
If any employee, including Fire and Police, is covered under the City
health insurance plan either by spouse or dependent coverage, they
would not be permitted to be covered by a individual ���I�t��� policy
also with the City.

4. Travel Expenses - The City of Brookings has City owned
vehicles available for travel, however, employees have the
discretion of using their own vehicles for trevel.
Employees using their private vehicle for city travel shall
be reimbursed for the actual miles traveled at S/22 5. 24 per
mile.
