A POLICY DESIGHATIHG COLLECTIOH AUTHORITY
The City of Brookings pill restrict their garbage collection
efforte to "residential" accounte served by the City of Brookings
Electric Department and Mill not collect "commercial° accounte Mith
the follo�ing provisions:
1. Apartment buildings up to and including eight (8) plexes can
be served by the city if the oMner desires. Lerger apartment
buildings will be considered commercisl.
2. Mobile home courts can be served by either the City of
Brookings or private haulers at the preference of the owner/manager of
the mobile home court.
3. The City of Brookings reserves the right to serve local or
state government buildings if requested.
4. The City of Brookings considers home occupations as defined
by the City Commission and approved by the Board of Ad�ustment to be
considered residential garbage collection.
5. The City of Brookings reserves the right to serve churches,
other non profit organizations or city sponsored activities if
requested by the orgenization.
6. Any commercial accounts that have dumpsters not described in
the above conditions and that were accepted under pest city policies
will be given their choice to either stay with city service or sritch
to private service.
7. Any commercial account that does not have a dumpster pill be
notified on January 1, 1993 to switch to a private hauler.
"Commercial" is defined asgarbage collection accounts serving
for-profit businesses, services or institutions within the City of
Brookings corporate limits.
Multiple family dNellings over eight (8) plexes are defined as
"commercial".
