RESOLUTION H0. 16-93
RESOLUTION OF PARTICIPATION
WHEREAS, the governing body of Brookings is interested in the
economic well-being of its citizenry and the community at-large; and,
WHEREAS, the governing body is prepared to support appropriste
efforts within the community to become totally prepared to promote
economic development; and,
WHEREAS, the South Dakota Governor's Office of Economic
Development is offering a program which is specifically designed to
help South Dakota communities to become prepared for community and
economic development; and,
WHEREAS, this program ia entitled the Guide to Opportunities for
Local Development Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Brookings City Commission,
that our community, Brookings, Nishes to participate in the South
Dakota GOLD Program, and that the leadership of this community fully
realizee this program requires dedicated effort; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that by making entry into this program,
we are pledging our honest efforts to become designated se s GOLD
community; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the program requires the exiatence
or formation of a Local Development Organization, and this governing
body designated the Brookings Ares Chamber of Commerce as representing
our community for the purpose of participating in this program.
