FOR STREET ASSESSMEHT PROJECT 93-02STA
BE IT RESOLVED By the Board of Commissioners of the City of
Brookings, South Dakota, as follows:
The Board of Commissioners of the City hereby declares the
necessity of paving of the minor and collector streets of the City as
follors:
Paving minor streets between existing curbs for a paving Midth of
twenty-six (26) feet on the minor streets listed belor:
a. PARKWAY BOULEVARD from Yosemite Lane West to its terminous
b. CARDIHAL DRIVE from Hunters Ridge Road to the north 462'
c. DEER PASS in its entirety
Paving collector streets for a total street width of thirty five
(35) feet on the collector streets listed beloM.
A. SEVEHTEEHTH AVEHUE SOUTH from Eighth Street South to Twelfth
Street South
B. TWELFTH STREET SOUTH from 150' west of Seventeenth Avenue South
to the east 1323. 5'
1. The general nature of the improvement is above set forth and
reference for details is hereby made to the dravings and
specifications prepared by the City Engineer and on file rith the
City Finance Officer.
2. The materials to be used for paving of the street are as folloMs:
One and one-half inch tl 1/2" ) bituminous mat on a one and
one-half inch ( 1 1/2" ) asphalt stabilized base course on a six
inch t6" ) crushed gravel base course for the tpenty-six foot
(26' ) wide minor streets.
One and one-half inch ( 1 1/2" ) bituminous mat on a two and
one-half inch t2 1/2" ) asphalt stabilized base course on eight
inches (8" ) of crushed gravel base course for the thirty-five
foot (35' ) wide collector streets.
3. The improvement is substantially uniform. The estimated coet per
linear foot of streets for paving with a one and one-half inch
bituminous mat on a one and one-half inch asphalt stabilized base
course on a six (6) inch crushed gravel base courae to be paved
to a width of 31 feet back to back of curb is 530. 00 or 515. 00
per side of street.

The City will assume and pay, from the general funds, for
any extra thicknese required in excess of that described for
minor streets and for the extra vridth in excess of 31 feet back
to back of curb.
The cost of improvements to street intersectione and the
long eide of corner lots will be assessed to benefited
properties. The cost of improvements �vill be apportioned to all
assessable lots and tracts of land lying pithin one-half block or
300 feet of the street being improved, rhichever is less.
4. A description of claeses of lots to be assessed is as follors:
The assessable lots and tracts of land lying within one-half
block or three hundred feet of the streets hereinabove
described, whichever is less.
5. The method of apportionment of benefits is as follows:
The cost thereof to be assessed against all assessable lots
and tracts of land according to the benefite determined by
the governing body to accrue to all such lota and tracts
from the conetruction of the improvement.
6. The above described improvement shall be hereinafter referred to
as Street Assessment Pro�ect Ho. 93-02STA, which shall be deemed
a description of the improvement of the streete as hereinabove
set f orth.
