IHITIAL RESOLUTIOH FOR STREET ASSESSMEHT PROJECT 95-02STA
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of
Brookings, South Dakota, as follovs:
1. Thie Board deems it necessary to improve by paving Mith a
bituminous wearing surface on a crushed gravel base course and
otherMise improving the street referred to in a proposed resolution of
necessity for Street Assessment Ho. 95-02STA on file aith the City
Finance Officer and to provide for payment of the cost of such
improvements by levying assessmente against the property to be
benefited thereby according to benefite, Mhich property is also
deecribed in said proposed resolution.
2. This Board Mill meet at the Commission chambers in the City
Hall of the City of Brookings, South Dakota on Tuesday, the 13th day
of December, 1994, at 2:00 o'clock PM for the purpose of considering
any ob�ections to euch proposed resolution. The City Finance Officer
is directed to give statutory notice of the hesring.

PROPOSED RESOLUTIOH OF NECESSITY
FOR STREET ASSESSMEHT PROJECT 95-02STA
BE IT RESOLVED By the Board of Commissioners of the City of
Brookings, South Dakota, as follows:
The Board of Commissioners of the City hereby declares the
necessity of construction of the minor arterial street of the City as
follows:
Grading, curb and gutter, installation of water and sewer mains,
sewer and water service lines, gravel base course and asphalt
pavement on a minor arterial street for a total street ridth of
thirty one t31 ) feet on the street listed belop:
a. MEDARY AVEHUE from 110' south of Yorktorn to Fifteenth
Street South
l. The general nature of the improvement is above set forth and
reference for details is hereby made to the drawings and
specifications prepared by the City Engineer and on file pith the
City Finance Officer.
2. The material to be used is concrete for curb and gutter and the
following materials for gravelling of the atreets:
' An eight inch (8" ) crushed gravel base course for the thirty
five foot (35' ) wide minor arterial atreet.
A four inch (4" ) asphalt mat thirty feet Mide betpeen curbs.
3. The improvement is substantially uniform. The estimated cost of
curb and gutter is 510. 00 per linear foot of curb and gutter or
520. 00 per linear foot of street.
The estimated cost per linear foot of streets for gravelling with
an eight inch (8" ) crushed gravel base course and paving with a
four inch (4"0 thick mat is 525. 00 per side of street for a total
of 550. 00 per linesl foot of street.
The estimated cost of a water main is 815. 00 per lineal foot of
the main.
The estimeted cost of a sewer main is 520. 00 per linesl foot of
main with the additional cost of 52000 per manhole.
4. A description of classes of lots to be assessed is as folloNs:
Al1 assessable lots and tracts of land lying contiguous to
the street hereinabove described.
5. The method of apportionment of benefits is as follows:
The cost thereof to be assessed against all assessable lots
and tracts of land according to the benefits determined by

the governing body to accrue to all such lots and tracts
from the construction of the improvement.
6. The above described improvement shall be hereinafter referred to
as Street Assessment Project Ho. 95-02STA, which shall be deemed
a description of the improvement of the streets as hereinabove
set forth.
Passed and approved this 15th day of November, 1994.

HOTICE TO PROPERTY OWNERS
NOTICE IS HEREBY given to the orners of the property described in
the foregoing proposed resolution that the Bosrd of Commissioners will
meet at the Commission Chambers in City Hall on Tuesday, December 13,
1994 at 2:00 o'clock P. M. , for the consideration of the adoption of
said resolution. At said time and place, the Board of Commisaioners
will consider any objections to the proposed resolution by oMners of
property liable to be assessed for improvement.
