ESTABLISHIHG MONTHLY CHARGES FOR DISPOSAL OF REFUSE IN THE CITY
OF BROOKINGS, SOUTH DAKOTA
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OP BROOKIHGS AS FOLLOWS, TO WIT:
I. Monthlv Charqes for State Inetitutions
The cost of the diaposal of refuee from a etate institution or
facility located Mithin the city, Mhich institution or facility
meintains its oNn collection service, shell be et the seme rete or
charge imposed upon liceneed commercial garbage haulers, as provided
in Paragraph II and which rate or charge shall be impoaed on each load �
whether the same be a partial or full load. The landfill eupervisor
ahall keep a monthly record of the number of loads brought to the
sanitary landfill each month by a etate institution and said
institution shall be billed at the end of each celendar month on the
basis of the number of loeds of refuee brought to the sanitary
landfill during the prior month.
II. Charaea for Uae
Esch commercial hauler and each commerciel eatablishment hauling
ita oMn garbage, rubbish and Maste material shall pay to the city for
the use of the sanitary landfill, per vehicle load, the folloMing
charges:
(a) For loads of defuse material not requiring additional
compaction or processing (shingles, concrete, general rubble or
demolition meterial) the sum of 915. 00 per ton rill be charged.
Minimum fee rill be 85. 00 for 666 pounds of material.
(b) For loads of Maste material requiring additional compaction
or proceseing (paper, food Maste, plastic, lumber, trees, grase,
leaves, etc. ) the sum of 930. 00 per ton Mill be charged. Minimum fee
rill be �5. 00 per 333 pounde of material.
III. Landfill Char�es for Special Waste_
Each hauler of special raste, including tires, asbestos and
petroleum contaminated eoil, shall pay to the City of Brookings for
the use of the landfill, the folloring charges:
�a) For Tiree
( 1) paesenger car tiree � 2. 00
(2) light pickup tires 8 3. 00
(3) truck tiree 8 7. 00
t4) tractor tires 8 20. 00
�b) For A�bestoa
( 1 ) per bag 8 5. 00
(2) per cubic yard 8 30. 00
(c) Por petroleum contaminated soil
(1 ) Waete oil per cu yd 914. 00 or 910. 50 ton "
(2) Gae per cu yd 9 9. 25 or 8 7. 00 ton
(3) Diesel per cu yd 9 9. 25 or 5 7. 00 ton
(4) Mixed Gas 8� Diesel per cu yd 510. 00 or 8 7. 50 ton
IV. Tirea
No tirea rill be collected on city gerbage routea. Tiree may be
disposed of at the lsndfill at the prices lieted in Peragraph III. (1)
tl-4).
V. Avoliances

VI. All chargea establiehed by this reaolution rill be effective
August 30, 1994.
