HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 61-1994 RESOLUTION H0. 61-94 ESTABLISHING MONTHLY CHARGES FOR DISPOSAL OF REFUSE IN THE CITY OF BROOKINGS, SOUTH DAKOTA BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF BROOKINGS AS FOLLOWS, TO WIT: I. Monthlv Char�es for State Institutions The cost of the disposel of refuee from s atate institution or facility located Mithin the city, rhich institution or facility maintains its orn collection aervice, shall be at the same rate or charge imposed upon licensed commercial garbage heul�rs, as provided in Paragraph II and rhich rate or charge ehall be imposed on each losd Mhether the same be a partiel or full load. The landfill supervisor shall keep a monthly record of the number of loads brought to the sanitary landfill each month by a etate institution and said institution shall be billed at the end of each calendar month on the basis of the number of loade of refuse brought to the sanitary landfill during the prior month. I I. Charpes f or Uee Each commercial hauler and each commercial establiehment hauling its orn garbage, rubbieh and raste material ehall pey to the city for the uae of the sanitary lendfill, per vehicle load, the folloMing chargee: (a) For loads of defuse material not requiring additional compaction or processing (shingles, concrete, general rubble or demolition material) the sum of �15. 00 per ton rill be charged. Minimum fee Mill be 55. 00 for 666 pounds of materiel. (b) For loade of Maete material requiring additional compsction or proceseing (paper, food Maste, plastic, lumber, trees, grass, leaves, etc. > the sum of 830. 00 per ton rrill be charged. Minimum fee rill be 55. 00 per 333 pounds of material. III. Landfill Charaea for Special Waste Each hauler of special Maste, including tires, asbestos and petroleum contaminated soil, ehall pay to the City of Brookings for the use of the landfill, the folloring charges: ta) For Tires ( 1) passenger car tires 5 2. 00 t2) light pickup tires S 3. 00 t 3) truck tires S 7. 00 t4) tractor tires S 20. 00 (b) For Asbestos ( 1 ) per bag S 5. 00 (2) per cubic yard � 30. 00 (c) For petroleum contaminated soil (1) per cubic yard 8 14. 00 or 810. 50 ton IV. Tires No tiree Mill be collected on city garbage routee. Tires msy be disposed of at the landfill at the prices list�d in Paragraph III. ( 1) ( 1-4). V. AoDliances White goods having freon vill be seven �nd one-half dollare (�7. 50) per eppliance. VI.
