HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 57-1994 RESOLUTION H0. 57-94 A RESOLUTION APPROVIHG CABLE TELEVISION RATE REAUEST WHEREAS, BROOKINGS CABLEVISION has filed Mith the City FCC Form 393, Mhich is the cable operator's initial Request for Cable Rate Approval, and WHEREAS, the Brookings Cable TV Review Board has determined the basic rate requested does not exceed the maximum permitted rate for basic service. and WHEREAS, the Cable TV Revier Board has recommended to the City Commission that the cable rate request of 820. 19 for the baeic service tier be approved, noM therefore BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Brookinga that the basic rate request of Brookinge Cablevision in the amount of 520. 19 for the basic cable service tier is hereby approved. Passed and approved this 17th day of May, 1994 ,o�BRoo�,Nc� Mayor .��T: � ��'9 � � � � Fin Officer _ ,. • Cable N Review Board May 9, 1994 The Brookings Cable Television Review Board met at 3:00 p.m., Monday, May 9, 1994, in the Brookings City Hall meeting room. Members present: Don Behrend and Woodrow Wentzy. Also present: Mayor Wayne Hauschild, City Attorney Steven Britzman and Gary Sheeley. Mayor Hauschild informed the remaining members that he had accepted Dwight Adam's resignation as of May 1, 1994. The minutes of November 4, 1993, meeting were approved. City Attorney Steven Britzman explained in detail the allowable benchmark rate for Brookings Cablevision. He further explained his worksheets for calculating the maximum permitted rate per channel for basic tier or programming service. Cablevision is currently at the maximum rate permitted. (Wentzy/Behrend) Motion to recommend to the City Commission to approve Brookings Cablevision's request for Cable Rate be approved. All present voted yes; motion carried. The Mayor discussed ordinance changes regarding the Cable TV Review Board. Changes discussed were increasing membership from three to five members, modifying residency requirements to extend into Brookings County and changing the name to Cable Television Board. The next meeting of the Board should include evaluating rule making procedures for cable rates. Meeting adjourned. Submitted by Theo C. Kryger
