HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 28-1994 RESOLUTION N0. 28-94 ESTABLISHING MOHTHLY CHARGES FOR COLLECTION AND CHARGES FOR DISPOSAL OF REFUSE IN THE CITY OF BROOKIHGS, SOUTH DAKOTA BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF BROOKINGS AS FOLLOWS, TO WIT: I. Monthlv Charaes for State Institutione The cost of the disposal of refuse from a state inetitution or facility located Mithin the city, which institution or facility maintains its oan collection service, shall be at the same rate or charge imposed upon licensed commercial garbage haulers, as provided in Paragraph II and vhich rate or charge shall be imposed on each load Mhether the same be a partial or full load. The landfill supervisor shall keep a monthly record of the number of loads brought to the sanitary landfill each month by a state inetitution and said institution shall be billed at the end of each calendar month on the basis of the number of loads of refuee brought to the sanitary landfill during the prior month. II. Char�es for Use Each commercial hauler and esch commercial establishment hauling its own garbage, rubbish and Naste material shall pay to the city for the use of the sanitary landfill, per vehicle load, the folloMing charges: (a) For loads of defuse material not requiring additional compaction or processing (shingles, concrete, general rubble or demolition material) the sum of 515. 00 per ton r�ill be charged. Minimum fee will be 85. 00 for 666 pounds of material. (b) For loads of waste material requiring additional compaction or processing (paper, food Naste, plastic, lumber, trees, grass, leaves, etc. ) the sum of 530. 00 per ton rill be charged. Minimum fee will be 55. 00 per 333 pounde of material. III. Landfill Charpes for Svecial Waste Each hauler of special waste, including tires, asbestos and petroleum contaminated soil, ehall pay to the City of Brookings for the uae of the landfill, the following aharges: (a) For Tires ( 1 ) passenger car tires 8 2. 00 (2) light pickup tires 8 3. 00 (3) truck tires S 7. 00 t4) tractor tires S 20. 00 tb) For Asbestos ( 1) per bag 8 5. 00 (2) per cubic yard 8 30. 00 (c) For petroleum contaminated eoil ( 1) per cubic yard S 7. 50 or 8 5. 35 ton � IV. Tiree No tires will be collected on city garbage routes. Tires may be disposed of at the landfill at the prices listed in Paragraph III. (1 ) ( 1-4). V. Atavliances White goods having freon r►ill be seven and one-half dollars t87. 50) per applisnce. VI. All charges established by this resolution Nill be effective June 1, 1994.
