WHEREAS, local and state control of Solid and Hazardous Waste
keeps costs of solid waste management lower, and
WHEREAS, the South Dakota Department of Environment and Hatural
Resources already has a regulatory program in existence and
WHEREAS, there is a concern on hoM to adequately fund the Solid
and Hazardous Waste Regulatory Program of the South Dakota Department
of Environment and Hatural Resources, and
WHEREAS, there is a need to convey to the State Legislature our
concern that the Solid and Hazardous Waste Regulatory Program be
funded and �
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the governing body of the
City of Brookings endorses and encaurages the uae of the current one
dollar (51. 00) tipping fee to fund the activities of the Solid and
Nazardoua Waste Regulatory Program.
