RESOLUTION NO. 52-95
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN CONTRACT FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
WITH BURNS &MCDONNELL ENGINEERING
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Brookings to authorize
the Mayor to sign a contract for professional services for Construction quality Assurance
Monitoring Services for Landfill Area 2E.

Proposal for Construction Quality Assurance Monitoring Services -
. Trench 2E - Brookings Landfill
Dear Mr. Jongeling:
We propose to perform the Construction Quality Assurance Services as outlined
in your request. Our estimated fee for this work is $17,560.
Our fee is based on furnishing one engineering technician on site to observe
the installation of the landfill components. We will furnish a report
certifying that the work was accomplished in substantial compliance with the
contract documents and approved modifications, if any. We have included the
applicable field and laboratory testing as listed in the CQA Plan. The liner
placement criteria will be that utilized for trench lE installed previously.
Our fee is based on a construction period of 28 working days. We have
included 3 working days due to construction and/or weather delays or delays
beyond our control. If the construction period extends beyond the 28 working
days estimated, our additional charges will be $55/hr plus expenses.
The certification report will be provided 4 weeks after construction is
complete (providing all test results and f.ield survey data has been provided) .
All survey information, construction coordinates, layout, test locations, and
elevations will be provided by others.
