ESTABLISHING ANNUAL SALARIES AND BONDS OF THE APPOINTED OFFICERS OF
THE CITY OF BROOKINGS, SOUTH DAKOTA
BE IT RESOLVED By the City Commissioners of the City of Brookings, South Dakota,
that the annual salaries of the elected officials and appointed officers of the City of Brookings,
effective January 1, 1997, sha11 be as follows:
POSITION SALARY
Attorney $35,391
Director of Solid Waste Management 41,026
Engineer 60,191
Finance Officer 51,505
Fire Chief 46,131
Human Resources Officer 40,034
Liquor Store Manager 35,348
Park& Recreation Director 47,439
Park& Recreation Director receives $2,100
per annum for use of personal vehicle
Police Chief 48,645
Police Chief receives $2,100 per annum
for use of personal vehicle
Street Superintendent 40,467
FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED That a11 elected and appointed officials, board members,
and designated employees of the City of Brookings in the various Departments shall be covered
by the blanket official bond, conditioned upon the faithful performance of the duties of their
position, and to account, pay over, and deliver a11 money or property coming into their hands by
virtue of their position according to law and that a Commercial Crime Policy which contains a
$250,000 blanket bond coverage which is provided for each official, board member, designated
employee, Mayor and Commissioners and City Finance Officer as is provided by Section 9-14-6.1
of the SDCL and acts amendatory thereto; and
FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED That the salary scale, longevity pay, sick leave policy, and
dental insurance coverage for all General Management Employees under the jurisdiction of the
City Commission shall be approved by Resolution for the year 1997; and
FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED That the pay period will be the last day of each month.
