RESOLUTION NO. 53-96 STREET ASSESSMENT PROJECT 96-02STA BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Brookings, South Dakota, as follows: The Board of Commissioners of the City hereby declares the necessity of construction of the minor streets of the City as follows: Grading, curb and gutter, and gravel base course on the minor arterial streets for a total street width of thirty-one (31) feet on the streets listed below: a. TERESA AVENUE from Martin Boulevard to the south b. MARTIN BOULEVARD from 150' west of David Cove to 150' east of Rhonda Road 1. The general nature of the improvement is above set forth and reference for details is hereby made to the drawings and specifications prepared by the City Engineer and on file with the City Finance Officer. 2. The material to be used is concrete for curb and gutter and the following materials for gravelling of the streets: A twelve (12) inch crushed gravel base course for the thirty-one foot (31')wide minor streets. 3. The improvement is substantially uniform. The estimated cost of curb and gutter is $10.00 per linear foot of curb and gutter or $20.00 per linear foot of street. The estimated cost per linear foot of streets for gravelling with a twelve inch (12") crushed gravel base course is $10.00 per side of street for a total of$20.00 per lineal foot of street. A side street assessment of approximately $800 will be applied to applicable lots. The estimated cost of intersections will be borne equally by each lot at an additional cost of approximately $600 per lot. 4. A description of classes of lots to be assessed is as follows: All assessable lots and tracts of land lying contiguous to the streets hereinabove described. 5. The method of apportionment of benefits is as follows: The cost thereof to be assessed against all assessable lots and tracts of land according to the benefits determined by the governing body to accrue to all such lots and tracts from the construction of the improvement. .- . .. � 6. The above described improvement shall be hereinafter referred to as Street Assessment Project No. 96-02STA, which shall be deemed a description of the improvement of the streets as hereinabove set forth. Mayor ATTEST: Finance Officer , ' - � RESOLUTION NO. 40-96 IIVITIAL RESOLUTION FOR STREET ASSESSMENT PROJECT 96-02STA BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Brookings, South Dakota, as follows: 1. This Board deems it necessary to improve by placing curb and gutter and a crushed gravel base course on Teresa Avenue and Martin Boulevard as referred to in a proposed resolution of necessity for Street Assessment No. 96-02STA on file with the City Finance Officer and to provide for payment of the cost of such improvements by levying assessments against the property to be benefited thereby according to benefits, which property is also described in said proposed resolutions. 2. This Board will meet at the Commission Chambers, City Ha11, City of Brookings, South Dakota on Tuesday, the l lth day of June, 1996, at 2:00 o'clock p.m. for the purpose of considering any objections to such proposed resolution.
