SETTING GARBAGE COLLECTION AND RECYCLING SCHEDULE
WHEREAS, the State Legislature passed the Second Century Environmental Protection
Act in 1992, which included banning recyclable items from being buried in the landfill, and;
WHEREAS, the landfill ban for office paper and computer paper is July 1, 1996, and;
WHEREAS, the landfill ban for all other paper products such as cardboard, newspapers,
magazines, etc. is January 1, 1997, and;
WHEREAS, the landfill ban for food and beverage containers made of plastic, aluminum,
� steel and glass is July l, 1997;
, AND WHEREAS, to make recycling more convenient to the public;
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED that the garbage collection be collected
once per week on either Monday or Tuesday (scheduled day adjusted for Holidays) and;
LET IT FURTHER BE RESOLVED that recyclable items be collected on Thursday or
Friday, ei�ective July 15, 1996.
