RESOLUTION NO. 132-97
LEVYING ASSESSMENT FOR STREET ASSESSMENT PROJECT NO.97-02STA
WHEREAS,the City Commission has provided for the following work to be completed under
97-02STA:
1. Sunrise Ridge Circle from Sunrise Ridge Road west approximately 320'
2. Martin boulevard from 170'east of Teresa Avenue to Rhonda Road
3. Teresa Avenue from Martin Boulevard south to the end
4. Alley from Medary Avenue to Eleventh Avenue between Third Street and Fourth
Street
5. Alley from Ninth Avenue to Medary Avenue between Second Street and Third Street
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners to the City of Brookings, South Dakota,as
follows:
1. The Board of Commissioners has made all investigation which it deems necessary and has
found and determined that the amount which each lot or tract will be benefited by the construction of the
street improvement heretofore designated as Street Assessment Project No.97-02STA is the amount
stated in the proposed assessment roll.
2. The assessment roll for Street Assessment Project No.97-02STA is hereby approved and the
assessments thereby specified are levied against each and every lot,piece or pazcel of land
thereby described.
3. The assessment shall be divided into five(5)equal annual installments for alleys and ten(10)
equal annual installments for streets. Interest will not start to accrue until November 26,2006 for the
Martin Boulevard and Teresa Avenue assessments.
4. Such assessments,unless paid within thirty(30)days after the filing of the assessment roll in
the office of the City Finance Officer, shall be collected by the City Finance Officer in accordance with
the procedure for Plan One in Sections to 9-43-51, South Dakota Compiled Laws of 1967,as amended.
Passed and approved this 23rd day of December, 1997.
