RESOLUTION NO. 129-97
AWARDING BIDS FOR WOOD GRINDER AND TROMMEL SCREEN FOR SOLID
WASTE DISPOSAL
WHEREAS, The City of Brookings and City of Sioux Falls have entered into a Joint
Powers Agreement for the purchase and operation of a wood grinder and trommel screen and;
WHEREAS,the Joint Powers Agreement specifies expenses be paid at the rate of 80%
for the City of Sioux Falls and 20% for the City of Brookings and;
WHEREAS, the State of South Dakota Department of Environment and Natural
Resources awarded a Solid Waste grant to the City of Sioux Falls and the City of Brookings and;
WHEREAS,the City of Sioux Falls did advertise and receive bids for said equipment;
BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Brookings City Commissioners concurs in awarding
the wood grinder contract to Northern Truck Equipment of Sioux Falls for$168,219.00 for a
Toro 2000 grinder.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Brookings City Commission concurs in
awarding the trommel screen bid to Diesel Machinery Inc. of Sioux Falls for$121,197.00 for a
Wildcat 623 trommel screen.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Brookings share of the above
purchase is $16,822.00 for the grinder and$12, 120.00 for the trommel screen.
Passed and approved this 16th day of December, 1997.
