WHEREAS, the City of Brookings has identified the need to complete a flood hazard
mitigation project to protect a portion of the city that was damaged by the 1997 disaster, and
WHEREAS, Brookings desires to undertake this project, and
WHEREAS, the City of Brookings is eligible to apply for Federal assistance for the
proposed project; and
WHEREAS, with the submission of the CDBG application Brookings assures and
certifies that all CDBG program requirements will be fulfilled; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Commission of Brookings duly
authorizes the submission of a CDBG application requesting approximately $50,000 of CDBG
funds, and
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor of Brookings be authorized to sign
and execute the CDBG application on behalf of the city.
