BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That the Mayor be authorized to sign the Agreement on behalf of the City of Brookings Passed and approved this 24th day of June, 1997. Kansas Ciry, Missouri In accordance with the AGREEMENT for PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING SERVICES dated February 6, 1995, between City of Brookings, South Dakota (hereinafter called CLIENT) and Burns & McDonnell Engineering Company, Inc. (hereinafter called ENGINEER), CLIENT hereby authorizes ENGINEER to proceed with the following services: I. SCOPE OF SERVICES The Scope of Services to be provided by ENGINEER, in connection with this Authorization, is as follows: 1. Prepare design drawings, specifications, and bid documents for Landfill Area 1 W. 2. Design services during the bid and construction period to address contractor's questions and issue interpretations and clarifications of the bid documents for the Landfill Area 1 W contract. 3. Design temporary stormwater holding reservoir in Landfill Area 2W. 4. Maintain good communication with CLIENT. There are no site visits by ENGINEER planned. 5. Prepare and submit one copy of the preliminary drawings and specifications for CLIENT's review. Provide 10 copies of the final bid documents to CLIENT. II. RESPONSIBILITIES OF CLIENT CLIENT will provide, in connection with this Authorization, information as specified in the Agreement for Professional Engineering Services. 1. Provide survey cross sections in Landfill Areas 1W and 2W to enable ENGINEER to revise the topographic map for existing conditions. 2. Brief ENGINEER on construction progress and procedures. 3. Inform ENGINEER of construction problems. 4. Review and process contractor's submittals. 5. Authorize site visits by ENGINEER on a trip basis, ff needed. For example,"Assoaate","Senior",etc.,refer to such posfions as"Associate Engineer","Senior Arc�iitect",etc. 2.The houry rates shown above are effective for services through December 31,1997,and are subjed to revision thereafter. 3.For anX nonexempt personnel in posfions marked with an asterisk(7,overtime will be billed at 1.5 times the houry � labor b�lling rates shown. 4.Project time spent by corporate officers wiil be billed at the Prinapal rate(Level 17)plus 25 peroent. 5.For outside expenses incurred by Bums&McDonnell,such as authorized travel and subsistence,and for services rendered by others such as subcontractors, the Gient shall pay the cost to Bums 8 McDonnell plus 10%. 6.Monthly invoices will be submitted for payment covering services and expenses during the preceding month. invoices are due upon receipt. A late payment charge of 1.5°�per month will be added to all amounts not paid within 30 days of the invoice date. Form BMRT97
