SANITARY SEWER ASSESSMENT PROJECT NO. WW0597
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Brookings, South
Dakota, as follows:
The Board of Commissioners of the City hereby declares the necessity of installing a
sanitary sewer line as follows:
A gravity sewer main on 30th Avenue from 600' south of centerline of US 14 Bypass
going north 970' in 30th Avenue, thence east to 32nd Avenue along the north property
line of Block 5 and 6 Freeland Addition.
1. The general nature of the improvement is above set forth and reference for details is hereby
made to the drawings and specifications prepared by the Utility Engineer and on file with the
City Finance Officer.
2. The material to be used is poly vinyl chloride sewer pipe and concrete manholes.
3. The improvement is substantially uniform.
The estimated cost of a sewer main is $30.00 per lineal foot of the main.
The City will assume and pay, from the general funds, for any extra pipe sizing required in
excess of that described for standard sewer mains.
4. A description of classes of lots to be assessed is as follows:
All assessable lots and tracts of land lying within one-half block or three hundred feet of
the streets hereinabove described, whichever is less.
5. The method of apportionment of benefits is as follows:
The cost thereof to be assessed against all assessable lots and tracts of land according to
the benefits determined by the governing body to accrue to all such lots and tracts from
the construction of the improvement.
6. The above described improvement sha11 be hereinafter referred to as Sanitary Sewer
Assessment Project No. WW0597, which shall be deemed a description of the improvement of
the sanitary sewer as hereinabove set forth.
