Home My WebLink AboutResolution 39-1997 RESOLUTION NO. 39-97 WHEREAS, Miller Sellers and Heroux Architects Inc. have been retained by the City of Brookings for the development of facilities for the proposed Brookings Agri-Plex and exhibition center and research center and WHEREAS proposals for additional services are needed as per the original contract and ' WHEREAS additional proposals No. 1, No. 4, No. 5, &No. 6 have been approved by the Agri-Plex design and construction sub-committee and the interim manager, at the specified cost of performance on each record. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that said addendums to the contract are hereby approved and the Mayor is authorized to execute same with the architects accordingly. Their scope of work shall consist of the following: Based on our understanding of the project and our experience in the area, we propose 8 soil borings be extended to depths of approximately 15 to 20 feet below existing grade (unless refusal occurs) in the area of the proposed building. In addition, we will extend 6 borings to depths of approximately 5 feet below the existing grade in the proposed parking lot area. During the exploration program they will obtain and log samples for laboratory testing, as applicable. We will use the information obtained from the field exploration and testing program to evaluate the subsurface conditions at this site. A report by a registered professional engineer will be prepared based on this information and geotechnical analysis. Any additional work resulting from the discovery of unanticipated conditions will be performed, upon your authorization, using our current fee schedule. This price is based on performing the work in conjunction with other projects in the area. We assume the site is accessible for a truck mounted drill rig. (See attached drawings for proposed boring locations).
