A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING AN AD HOC CONIlVIITTEE TO REVIEW
FLOODING ISSUES INVOLVING SIX MII.,E CREEK
WHEREAS, the City of Brookings has adopted Chapter 15 and 16 Flood Damage
Prevention Ordinances for the City Limits and Joint Jurisdictional Area,
AND WHEREAS, regulations for new construction and alternations are contained in
these ordinances.
AND WHEREAS, further information is needed as to cunent flooding issues involving
Six Mile Creek in the City of Brookings,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Engineer together with the ad
hoc committee be directed to initiate a review of flooding issues involving Six Mile Creek in the
city of Brookings and the Joint Jurisdictional Area.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that an ad hoc committee be formed consisting of the
following members:
Doug Austreim Area Landowner
Lyle Johnson Brookings Township Supervisor
Lyle Stewart Area Landowner
Richard Waldner Area Landowner
Todd Struwe Brookings County Emergency Management
Dave Rusten Brookings County Drainage Officer
John Mills Area Landowner
John Moriarty Area Landowner
Gregg Jongeling City Engineer
This committee sha11 advise the City Commission of their recommendations by July 1,
1997 at which time said Ad Hoc Committee shall be dissolved.
Passed and approved this 6th day of May, 1997.
