HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 25-1997 RESOLUTION NO. 25-97 WHEREAS, the Brookings Public Library is submitting an application for a Library Services and Construction Act Technology Enhancement Grant in the amount of$78,000 and WHEREAS, the City of Brookings and the Brookings Library Board assure the following statements: that the City of Brookings will fund the 50% match required by the grant ($39,000); that sufficient funding will be available from the second penny sales tax to fund the library expansion project ($2.6 million); that the Brookings Public Library staff will be paid at least minimum wage; that the Brookings Public Library will be open more than 15 hours per week; that the library building will continue to be devoted to public library purposes for not less than twenty years; that the Brookings Public Library will continue to be a full member in the South Dakota Library Network; that upon completion of the project, sufficient funds will be available to operate the library; that the Brookings Public Library has unconditional use of the site and the building housing the library, and WHEREAS, Tracy Dahl-Webb, Human Resource Officer for the City of Brookings, will be responsible for certifying Davis-Bacon compliances. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Mayor Wayne A. Hauschild be authorized to sign the application for the LSCA Title II Library Construction Crrant. Passed and approved this 15th day of April, 1997.
