Slotted pipe shall have two rows of slots with a slot width of 0.25-inch, spacing of 0.75-
inch between slots, and center 3-inch long slots in degrees at 120 and 240 degrees.
Revise Detail3, Leachate Clean out/Depth Gauge Detail on Drawing C6 to include 3-
22.5 degree elbows that are required to make the bend into the cast iron lamphole.
Add to the contract: $200.00

Please find enclosed the sieve analysis for the Pea Gravel (Zone A, Grannlar Drainage Material)
[hat Halste�ds sobmitted. The pea gravel is satisfactory for the genera] landfill bottom drainage
layer. The sanatl percenrage (1:5%) of material retained on the Q.375 inch sieve is noc a problem_

Enclosed is Chan�e�rder No. 1 revising the "Zone B" aggregate gradation. This laroer size
• aggreoate is needed around �heileachate collection pipe and slottzd sump drain. The available 1-
inch washed pravei from L. G, �verist, Ir�c. should me�t the "Zone B"aggregate gradation we
. have specified. It is important thai no more than 15% of the I-inch washed gravel passes the
� 0.375 inch sie�e. �t least one �ample of�he delivered 1-inch washed gravel should be collected
and analyzed to verify it meets the specified gradation.

My telephone call to L. G. Everist, Inc_ indicated that the 1-inch washed gravel would cost$7.20
per ton compared to S10_00 pei ton for the originally specified "Zone B" aggregate. Therefore,
you may want the conuactor to�decreas�his Original Contract Price by�2.80 per tvn. I do not
know how many tons of the "Z�ne B"aggregate will be used. The price adjustment can be written
on Change Ord�r No. 1 before you and the contractor si8tt the change order.

We have received the submittal for the submecsi6le leachate pump. The submittal wiil be
processed this week. please as�C the contraccor to provide you 3 copies of future submittals so we
can return you 2 eopies and wei will retain one copy. Section 1300 of the spe�ifications requires
the contraetor to provide you 3�copies.

We have cornpleted the submittal r�view for the leachate piping and drainage piping. Attaehed is
our compliance review form.
" The submittal for the 12-inch slotted HDPE pipe provided for the two slots to be located at 120

I'm;�ot sure whecher th�pipe supplier;.has�rovided for a 22.5 degtee elbow at the bottom of the
ctean ouddepth gauge pipe. They will need a tee in the leachate coIlection�ipe at the bottom of
the clean out and then a short pipe from the t�co the elbow to make the bend up ihe sideslope.
The submittal for the�ge e�addressed only the pipe coating.�q�� : : _ !he
