WHEREAS, on the 14th day of April, 1998,there was held in the City of Brookings,
South Dakota, an election for the purpose of electing one Commissioner for a term of five years
and,
WHEREAS,the judges and clerks of said election have returned to the City Commission
of the City of Brookings the official results for the purpose of the official canvass, and;
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners on Apri121, 1998 have canvassed the results
for the purpose of determining who are the elected officials;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of
Brookings, South Dakota, that the official vote at the annual City Election held April 14, 1998
was as follows:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Emil J. Klavetter is hereby elected as City
Commissioner of the City of Brookings for a term of five years, and that the City Finance Officer
is hereby directed to issue a certificate of election to Emil J. Klavetter as duly elected
Commissioners.
Passed and approved this 21 st day of April, 1998.
