WHEREAS, the current City Policy and Procedures Manua17.15.1 Authority states:
The Department Head will approve all travel in the State of South Dakota. The
City Council or the Park/Recreation and Library Board will approve travel outside the
State of South Dakota. It is the responsibility of the Department Head to request travel as
far in advance as possible.
WHEREAS, it is the intent that the City Council will no longer be involved in these types
of issues.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that section 7.15.1 of the Policy and
Procedures Manual will be as follows:
The Department Head will approve all travel in the State of South Dakota. The
City Manager or designate or the Park/Recreation and Library Board will approve travel
outside the State of South Dakota. It is the responsibility of the Department Head to
request travel as far in advance as possible.
