We have reviewed the costs and they appear reasonable. Relocating the fire hydrant in Item 1 was needed because the fire hydrant would have been on a steep inslope. We had intended the fire hydrant to be located on the upper flat area next to the Brookings Riding Club Arena; however, the actual constructed contours • were different than the plan contours. Locating the fire hydrant on the upper shelf helps ' improve the visibility of the hydrant. The additional water main fitting in Item 2 was needed to change direction where the water main was stubbed off 32"d Avenue. The allowable deflection in the pipe was not great enough to allow the pipe to make the transition in direction. Item 3 was needed to keep the storm sewer pipe parallel with the side of the ice arena building and the Multiplex building. Keeping the storm sewer pipe parallel to the buildings allows other underground utilities entering either building to cross perpendicular to the pipeline. If you have any questions or need additional information, please feel free to contact our office. Sincerely, l, . Richard L. Salonen, PE Proj ect Manager • Enclosure . • H.
