Resolution Authorizing Contribution to the
South Dakota World War II Memorial
WHEREAS,construction of a South Dakota World War II memorial is being planned on
the Capitol grounds in Pierre,South Dakota;and
WHEREAS,this memorial is being constructed as a forever-lasting monument to thank
all the past and present South Dakotans who contributed to the World War II effort and
immortalize their bravery and sacrifice that gave us the freedom that we enjoy today;and
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Brookings is honored to show
its commitment to this project with a contribution of$2,501 from the 2000 contingency fund
and$2,500 budgeted in fiscal year 2001 for a total contribution of$5,001.
