RESOLUTION No. 62-00
WHEREAS, a petition to vacate has been filed with the City Clerk of the City
of Brookings, and
WHEREAS, the petition was filed in proper form and signed by one hundred
percent (100%) of the adjacent property owners.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of
Brookings:
That Rainbow Parkway Street lying west of Western Avenue within Blocks 1,
2 and 3 of Rainbow Addition is vacated.
Approval is contingent upon an agreement between the Municipal Utility
Board and Rainbow Play System Inc.
Passed and approved this l lth day of September, 2000.

RE: Rainbow Parkway road vacate.
City Council,
Brookings Municipal Utilities is requesting an agreement from Rainbow
Play Systems for the following prior to the vacating of the road right-of-way
Rainbow Parkway:
1) Rainbow Play Systems shall ta.ke ownership of the existing 8" water
main going into Rainbow Pa.rkway, from the proposed meter vault
which is to be constructed just west of Western Avenue. A meter
vault is to be constructed just west of Western Avenue at Rainbow
Play Systems expense. The meter vault and all appurtenance sha11
be constructed and installed as per Utility standards and
recommendations. Rainbow Play Systems sha11 reimburse Utilities
for one city furnished hydrant and one city furnished valve which
were installed in Ra.inbow Parkway.
2) The street lights in Rainbow Parkway sha11 be removed by Utilities
at Rainbow Play Systems expense.
3) Three vaults for pulling electrical wires in duct sha11 be furnished by
Rainbow Play Systems and installed by Utilities at Rainbow Play
Systems expense.

Re: Rainbow Parkway
Dear Mr. Jongeling:
We would like to request that Rainbow Parkway be vacated. This road only serves property
owned by Rainbow Play Systems Inc.
Vacating this street will serve both the City and Rainbow Play Systems. The city will not have
to maintain the street or existing utilities and Rainbow will not be hindered in expansion due to
setbacks or easements.
We would like this request to be considered as soon as possible.
