RESOLUTION RECOGIVIZING EMPLOYEES FOR
THEIR WORK AT DM&E TRAGEDY.
WI-�REAS, the DM&E Railroad and the people of Brookings suffered a tragic
incident on Saturday, August 26, 2000, and,
WHEREAS, City employees and volunteers were called upon to assist in
emergency response, rescue operations, investigations, incident area security and control
and clean-up efforts, and,
WI�REAS, the employees and volunteers acted in a professional and exemplary
manner in ca.rrying out their duties during this difficult time, and,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Brookings, hereby recognizes the excellent effort by its employees and volunteers and
expresses sincere appreciation for their work at this tragic event.
