00-01SWR SIDEWALK ASSESSMENT PROJECT
RESOLUTION DETERNIIlVING THE NECESSITY OF REPAIRING SIDEWALKS 1N
THE CITY OF BROOKINGS AT THE EXPENSE OF ABUTTING PROPERTY OWNERS
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Brookings, South
Dakota, as follows:
1. It is hereby deternuned that sidewalk repairs are necessary abutting the parcels and lots
of land in the City described in the Notice to Property Owners attached to this Resolution and
marked as 00-01SWR Sidewalk Assessment Project.
2. Such sidewalks shall be to the width and of the materials prescribed by Section 605
"Sidewalks" and Section 701.3-16 of Ordinance No. 532 entitled"An Ordinance Providing Rules,
Regulations and Standards to Guide Land Sub-division in the City of Brookings and Within Three
Miles of the City Limits Thereof' and to the grade and in accordance with the Plans and
Specifications prepared in the of�'ice of the City Engineer.
3. The City Clerk has caused a copy of the Resolution and a Notice to Property Owners
to be ma.iled to each property owner by certified mail.

Resolution 47-00 allows the City to go in and repair sidewalks that need it. These
/ owners have been previously notified and haven't taken care of the problem. We
J already have the bids for 2000 and will have our contractor make the repairs once the
Resolution is adopted.
The house moving is f��r a new structure to be moved from a lumber yard to a
site south of Brookings in the Joint Jurisdictional Area. There should be no problem and
I would recommend that we �r�aive the performance bond requirement as this is new
construction.
The Ice Arena Site utilities was bid July 25. Low bidder of four received was
Prunty Construction in the amount of $104,800. I am still waiting for a formal letter of
recommendation from Greystone but there is no issue. This bid is well below the
estimate and we should accept the low bid of Prunty Construction in the amount of
$104,800. A bid tab is attached.
