A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AD HOC COMMITTEE TO RESEARCH THE
PROPOSED SENIOR CENTEIt
WHEREAS,the City of Brookings and the Senior Citizens Board conducted a study for
improving the space for Senior Citizen Activities; and
WHEREAS,there is a need for further exploration of the proposal to include but not be limited
to: alternative funding options, existing facility options and alternative sites,partnerships with
other entities, future expansion needs, operation costs, and support by the community; and
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL that an Ad Hoc
Committee to provide advice and guidance to the City Council on the concept of a new senior
center be created. The City Manager will provide a structure and bylaws for the Committee and
the Mayor will make appointments to the Committee with the advice and consent of the City
Council.
Passed and approved this 14th day of January 2002.
