ORDINANCE N0. 23- 74
AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE SUPPLEMENTING THE
ANNUAL APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AS MADE FOR THE YEAR 1974 BY
ORDINANCE N0. 19- 73 AND FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING FOR
ADDITIONAL FUNDS FOR THE OPERATION OF THE CITY, AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY" .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BROOKINGS , SOUTH DAKOTA:
Section 1. Whereas , by the Annual Appropriation Ordinance
for the year 1974 , Ordinance No. 19- 73 appropriating revenue
for the operation of the municipal government for the year 1974,
sufficient revenue was not provided to enable the municipality '
to conduct the indispensable functions of government of said
city in that appropriations were not sufficient for the operatian
of the Water=S�wer Fund, Health Department and Armory-Auditorium.
Section 2 . There is hereby appropriated for the purpose of
maintaining and o erating the City of Brookings an additional sum
in the amount of �$167 ,150. 00 for use in the following funds :
, Water-Sewer Fund• $ 160 ,000
Health Department 1,400
ArmoryYAuditorium �. 5 , 750
Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 4. An emergency is hereby declared and this ordinance
is declared to be for the support of the municipal government of
the City of Brookings , South Dakota and its existing public insti-
tutions and it shall be in full force and effect after its passage
, and publication.
