BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY O�' �n

�. That Section 29-58 of the Revised Ordinances of Brookings, South. `
Dakota, be and th�e same is hereby amended to read as follows, _

Section 29-58, Legal holidays. � ., � �

The following days shall be observeti as legal holida��=�1�. :� �
the city and, except as otherwise required by the c3.ty commission,

officers and employees of the city shall be allowed the day off frorri � ,
work with pay.
The first day of every week, known as Sunday; the first
day of January, commonly known as New Year's Day; the ; } :i
. third Monday in February, the anniversary of the birthdays ,
of Lincoln and Washington; the last Monday in May, com- : '
monly known as Memorial Day; the fourth day of July, corr�-
monly known as Independence Da.y; the first�N�vnday in
September, commonly known as Labor Day�; 'the second
Monday in October, commonly known as Pioneers' Day; the
eleventh day of November, known as Veterans' Day; the
fourth Thursday in November} commonly kn4wn as Thanksgi�ving
Day; and the twenty-�fifth day of December, commonly known
as Christmas Day; and every day appointed by the PresidenC ,-�
of the United States, or by the Governor of this state for a. public-�.�.
