Dakota, be amended by adding thereto the following, to-wit:

� The�City Commission may appoint special policemen and authoxize �
the issuance of special police perrnits to anyone having comptied-with the
requirements of this article upon the request of any person desiring.the.

Sec. 3�-51. 'Permit Required. :
It shall be unlawful for any person to engage in the c�ccupation of or
represent himself to any other person or to the public, or:to act as a�special .
� police�nan in the city without first having obtained a permit from the city

,A verified application for a permit required by this article shall lie ,
made in writing by the person intending to take employment as a specia.l , ,:�;
� ` policeman upon forms furnished by the Chief Qf Police, which, among other.

' things, shall provide the following info�rmation: `��
(a) F�11 name, address, age:and birth place of the applicant;
(b) The applicant's previous empYoyment -during the preeeding"
' ten (10) years, with names ar�d addresses of all employers; �
� (c) Statement from the applicant concerning his use, if ever, of _
an alias and the reason therefor; , >
�, (d) A�pplicant's experience, if any, as a po�ice officer or a spe�ia� . , '
policeman;
(e) :Statement by applicant as to whether or no� he h�s-��er been ` -
convicted of a felony;

� Sec. 32-59. Issuance of permit.

� When authorized by the city commission and when the fee necessary
has been paid and the bond filed, the Chief of Police shall issue a special .
policeman's permit to the applicant upon his taking and filing an oath of office.
Sec. 32-b0. Contents of permit.

. Each pe�mit issue under the provisions of this article shall be
nurr�ered and shall be in such form as may be displayed in a billfold and
shall contain a photograph and the signature of the permittee.
Sec. 32-61. Badge.
Upon�receiving a permit under this article, a speciat policeman may � �
display and wear an official badge of a design and quality approved_by the
Chief of Pa�ice.. , � „ �
Sec. 32-62�: Expi�ati�o,�,
All Re.rmits issued under the provisions of this art�cle'shall expire on
the 31�st day of�e,ceinber of the.�iea� iss�ed. � _ ,�:
Sec. 32-63.� Revocation. �
Any permit issued under the provisions of this article may be revoked _
by the City Commission for the violation by the permittee of any applical�le :
provision of this code, state law or city ordinance, rule or regulation.
Sec, 32-64. Permit renewaL
Any permit issued under this article may be renewed for a period '
of.one (1) year by the city commission; however, that if any permittee
shall allow his permit to remain unrenewed for a period of one (1) y�ar,�
a new permit shall be applied for in the same manner provided for in this ,
� article. If any renewal is denied, the applicant may obtain a hearing thereon .
before the commission in the same manner provi,�ied for a hearing;:in connection
- with the granting of an original permit: - � � �
Sec, 32�65, Employer's responsibility. ,
The person at whase instance the special policeman shall be appointed
shall be responsible for the pay of such special policeman and the city shall,
in no case incur any liability of any character whatsoever by reason of the
appointment of such special policeman; provided, however, th�t persons .
appointed special policemen at the requesrt of any department of the city shall �
. receive no extra compensation from the eity for his services as.a �pecial .
police�ian,
Sec. 32-66. Powers. ' �
All special policemen appointed under this article shall have the _
powers of regular policemen in the discharge of their duties; shall be
exclusively em�loyed and engaged�irt and about the business of th.e pe��o�s ;at .
whose instance they are respectively appointed; shall be under t�ie jurisdTict�on . '
and subject of the direction of the Chief of Police and of the City Commission.
Sec. 32-67. Concealable firearms. �
All special policemen under this article shall comply with the �;
provisions of this Code, state statutes and city ordinances relative to the �
