ORDINANCE N0. 29-81
AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE SUPPLEMENTING ORDINANCB
N0. 22-81, THE 1982 APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE, FOR THE PURPOSE OF
AMENDING THE AMOUNT LEVIED FOR GENERAL FUND PURPOSES, AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY". -
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BROOKINGS, SOUTH DAKOTA:
Section I . Referred Ordinance No. 21-81, the One Percent
City Sales Tax Ordinance, was approved by the votors in the
City of Brookings on November 3, 1981, and the effec�ive date
will be January 1, 1982, which will provide an estimated amount �
of $600,000 for General Fund purposes in the year 1982 and
reduce the necessity for a General Fund levy by said a�ount.
Section I.I . Ordinance No. 22-81, the Annual Appropriation
Ordinance, shall hereby be amended to change the amount of taxes
levied for General Fund purposes from $1,350,000 to $750,'000. � �
Section III. The City Finance Officer is hereby �
authorized and directed to certify the amended tax levy to th� .
County Auditor, to the end that same be spread and assessed by
law.
Section IV. This Qrdinance is declared to be for the st#p-
port of Municipal Government and its existing public. in�titu-
tions and it shall be in full force and effect after its passage
and publication.
