AN ORDINANCE OF THE CIT OF BROOKINGS, SOUTH DAKOTA, AMENDING
SECTION 2-59 OF Oi2DINAN�E NO. 715, THE REVISED ORDINANCES OF
THiE 'CITY OF BROOKINGS
BE IT ORDAIVED By the Governing Body of the City of
Brookings, South Dakota, that Section 2-59 of the Code of
Ordinances No. 715 be amended and changed as follows:
SECTION 2-59 :
From and after the lst day of Sep.tember, 1982, ther�';
is hereby imposed as a municipal retail occupational sales
and service tax upon the privileqe of engaging in business,
a tax of zero percent (0�) of the gross receipts from sales,
furnishing, or service of gas, electricity, water, local
telephone services, toll telephone services, and teletype-
writer services to the City of Brookings by all persons
engaged in business within the jurisdiction of the City of
Brookings, Brookings County, South Dakota.
The change in municipal retail occupational sales and
service tax rate made by the amending of this ordinance is
intended to be retroactive and prospective so as to be appli-
cable to all bills which are i�sued on or after September l,
1982, regardless of the time that the services covered by
this amendment were furnished.
