ORDINANCE NO. 44-83
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 405 , SECTION 410 AND SECTION 420
OF THE BROOKINGS ZONING ORDINANCE OF 1966 AS AMENDED, PERTAINING TO
GOV�RNMENTAL STRUCTURES AS A SPECIAL EXCEPTION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF BROOKINGS,
SOUTH DAKOTA:
I . That Section 405, Section 410 and Section 420 of the Brookings
Zoning Ordinance of 1966 as amended be and the same is hereby
amended to read as follows, to wit:
Section 408 .7 Public structures erected by any govern-
mental agency providing that such structure
is essential to serve the adjacent neigh-
borhood, that it cannot be located in any
other type of district, that it has ade-
quate screening and landscaping and where
applicable, that it is housed in buildings
that harmonize with the character of the
neighborhood.
Section 412 .2 Public structures erected by any govern-
mental agency providing that such structure
is essential to serve the adjacent neigh-
borhood, that it cannot be located in any
other type of district, that it has ade-
quate screening and landscaping and where
applicable, that it is housed in buildings
that harmonize with the character of the
neighborhood.
Section 421. 2 Be deleted.
Section 422 be amended by adding:
.7 Public structures erected by any

adjacent neighborhood, that it cannot be
located in any other type of district,
that it has adequate screening and
landscaping and where applicable, that
it is housed in buildings that harmonize
with the character of the neighborhood.
II . That any and all ordinances or parts thereof, in conflict
herewith, are hereby repealed.
