AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE SUPPLEMENTING THE ANNUAL
APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AS MADE FOR THE YEAR 1983 BY ORDINANCE
N0. 18-82 AND FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING FOR ADDITIONAL FUNDS
FOR THE OPERATION OF THE CITY" , AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BROOKINGS, SOUTH DAKOTA:
Section 1. Whereas, by the Annual Appropriation Ordinance
for the year 1983, Ordinance No. 18-82 appropriating revenue for
the operation of the municipal government for the year 1983,
sufficient revenue was not provided to enable the municipality to
conduct the indispensable functions of the government of said
City in that appropriations were not sufficient for an Industrial
Park.
Section 2 . There is hereby appropriated for the purpose of
maintaining and operating the City of Brookings an additional sum
in the amount of $328 ,000 for use in the following fund:
504 Industrial Park Fund
431. 00 Land Purchase $328 ,000
Section 3 . The Finance Officer is hereby authorized to
transfer the necessary funds from the General Fund to the Indus-
trial Park Fund.
Section 4 . All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 5 . An emergency is hereby declared and this ordin-
ance is declared to be for the support of the municipal government
and its existing public institutions and it shall be in full force
and effect after its passage and publication.
