AN ORDINANCE PERTAINING TO MONTHLY CHARGES FOR COLLECTION
AND DISPOSAL OF REFUSE FROM COMMERCIAL ESTABLISHMENTS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF
BROOKINGS, SOUTH DAKOTA:
I . Section 16-26 . Monthly charges for commercial establish-
ments.
The cost of the collection and disposal of refuse from com-
mercial establishments or the public schools or any other
institution or facility not otherwise classified herein
shall become a charge against the occupant of such commer-
cial establishment and shall be payable monthly together
with other public services as defined by this city. A fair
and reasonable charge for the collection of the contents
shall be a minimum of fifteen ($15 . 00) Dollars er month or
four and 50/100 ($4 . 50) Dollars for each two (2� cans or two
(2) sealed bags, whichever amount is greater, said charges
being based upon twice a week pickup.
Apartments and other institutions or facilities u�ilizing
one and one-half (1�2) and two (2) cubic yard containers for
trash receptacles shall be charged twenty-four ($24. 00)
dollars per month for the one and one-half (1�2 ) cubic yard
container and twenty-seven ($27 . 00) Dollars per month for
the two (2) cubic yard container, charges being based upon
twice a week pickup. Each additional pickup per week would
authorize an additional monthly charge of twelve ($12 . 00)
Dollars for the one and one-half (1�2) cubic yard containers
and sixteen ($16 . 00) Dollars for two (2) cubic yard con-
tainers.
II . That any and all ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed.
