HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 11-1984 . - ' --� , - • . . . + ORDINANCE N0. 11-84 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 17-27 and 17-28 OF THE REVISED ORDINANCES OF BROOKINGS, SOUTH DAKOTA, PERTAINING TO THE CITY HEALTH OFFICER AND DUPUTY CITY HEALTH OFFICER. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF BROOKINGS, SOUTH DAKOTA, THAT SECTIONS 17-27 and 17-28 OF THE REVISED ORDINANCES OF BROOKINGS, SOUTH DAKOTA, BE AND THE SAME IS HEREBY AMENDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS, TO-WIT: Section 17-27 . City Health Officer. At the first meeting of the City Commission in May of each year, the City Commission shall appoint a health officer, who shall be a physician in good standing and in active practice in the city, who shall be executive officer of the board of health. The health officer shall serve for one year or until a suc- cessor shall have been appointed and qualified. The health officer shall be bonded by the City in such amount as the City Commission may fix for faithful performance of duties . The health officer shall be entitled to receive compensation as fixed by the City Commission for services rendered. Section 17-28 . Deputy Health Officer. The City Commission of the City of Brookings shall appoint a Deputy Health Officer . It shall be the duty of the Deputy Health Officer to perform as directed by the Board of Health, City Commission and Ordinances of the City of Brookings. The Deputy Health Officer shall be Secretary of the Board of Health and attend all regular and special meetings. The Deputy Health Officer shall be entitled to receive compen- sation as fixed by the City Commission.
