HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 06-1984 • ' M . • . 1 - . ~ ORDINANCE NO. 6-84 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 200 AND ADDING SECTION 715 TO THE BROOKINGS ZONING ORDINANCE OF 1966 AS AMENDED, PERTAINING TO THE ALLOWABLE HEIGHT AND PLACEMENT OF AMATEUR COMMUNICATION TOWERS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF BROOKINGS, SOUTH DAKOTA: I . That Section 200 of the Brookings Zoning Ordinance of 1966 ' be and the same is he reby amended to read as follows, to-wit: Section 200 . Word Definitions . 45 Amateur Communication Tower. A tower, the guy wires, and the antenna which transmits amateur radio or citizen band signals . II . That Section 715 of the Brookings Zoning Ordinance of 1966 be added to read as follows, to-wit: Section 715 . Amateur Communication Tower Regulations . Section 716 . Area Regulations . . l Residential zones : Tower placement must comply with the minimum side, front and rear yard requirements for structures for the respective zone in which it is to be placed. .2 Business zones : Tower placement must comply with the minimum side, front and rear yard requirements for structures for the respective zone in which it it to be placed . Section 717 . Height Restrictions . � . 1 Basic Height. Each tower may have a basic height of � thirty-five (35) feet. For every one (1) additional foot in from the side lot line another one (1) foot in height can be added to a maximum height of sixty (60) feet. .2 Roof Towers . Towers attached to the roof of a structure shall extend not more than twenty (20) feet above the roof line . Section 718 . Structure Requirements . . 1 Material Restrictions . Towers constructed of wood are limited to a maximum height of thirty-five (35) feet. . 2 Construction requirements . Towers must be constructed and anchored according to the manufacturers instructions. III . That any and all ordinances or parts thereof, in conflict herewith, are hereby repealed.
