ORDINANCE N0. 25-85
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2-57 OF THE REVISED ORDINANCES
OF THE CITY OF BROOKINGS PERTAINING TO THE PURCHASE OF
SUPPLIES BY THE CITY OF BROOKINGS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF
BROOKINGS, SOUTH DAKOTA, THAT SECTION 2-57 OF THE REVISED
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF BROOKINGS BE AMENDED AS FOLLOWS:
Supplies needed by the City, involving a cost or expenditure
of not more than Five Thousand Dollars ($5, 000. 00) may be made
by the foreman, manager or superintendent of any department of
the city after obtaining the approval of the commissioner in
charge of such department; provided such purchases are routine
and do not involve a change in policy, but all claims therefor
shall be approved by the city commission as provided by law;
provided, however, supplies needed for the operation of any uti-
lity under the control of the utility board or supplies required
by the hospital board of trustees shall be acc{uired by such uti-
lity board or its designee or by the hospital board of trustees.
Any and all Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed.
