AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE LIFE SAFETY CODE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF BROOK-
INGS, SOUTH DAKOTA:
I . That Article IV , Section 10-61 , of the Revised Ordinances of
Brookings, South Dakota� be and the same is hereby amended as
follows� to-wit:
Section 10-61 Adoption of Life Safety Code.
There is hereby adopted by the City of Brookings, for
the purpose of prescribing regulations governing the
construction, protection and occupancy features of
Buildings necessary to minimize danger to life from
fire, smoke, fumes, or panic, that certain Code known as
the Life Safety Code recommended by the National Fire
Prote ction Association, Inc. , being particularly the
1985 edition thereof, save and except such portions as
are hereinafter deleted, modified or amended, of which
Code not less than one (1 ) copy has been and is now
filed in the office of the City Finance Officer, City of
Brookings, and the same is hereby adopted and incorpor-
ated as fully as if set out at length herein, and from
the date on which this Ordinance shall take effect, the
provisions shall be controlling within the limits of the
City of Brookings.
Any and all Ordinances or parts thereof in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed.
