Section 1. The srtists aad art�stic inst�tntiona of
the City of Brookiags contribnte to and provide
cnitural, edncational, entertainment aad recreationsl
benefits available to and uaed bp the citisens of
the City of Brookinga.
Section 2. The establishment of the Brook3ags C�tp
Arts Conncil hss promoted and enconraged pnblic
programa to further the developneent and publ�c
a�rareaess of aad interest in the arts rhich 3s
essential to the pnblic �relfare.
Section 3. Thst the Citp Co�aiBaion of the C�ty of
Broolcings does hereby desiqaate the Brookings Area Arts
Council as the orgaaization to assist the Citp of
Brookinqs in promoting and encouraging pub2ic prograos
to fnrther the develop,�ent aad awareness of and
interest in the arts and to act ia a advisorp capacitp
to the Citp in connection �rith the srtistic and
cnitural develo�ent of the Citp.
Section 4. And in furtheraace of the objectives of
this Ordinance, the Brookings Area Arta Council is to
initiste, sponsor and condnct public progra�s to
further the develop�sent and awareness of, and interest
�n, the arts.
Section 5. That the Citp Co�iasion of the Cftp of
Brookings does herebp anthorise the Brookings Area Arta
Conncil to receive and distribnte fands on behalf of
the Citp.
Section 6. The Brookiags Area Arts Conncil is to
advise and assist the Citp in connectioa �rith snch
other artiBtic activities as may be referred to it by
the Citp.
