ORDINANCE N0. 5-87
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 17-18 and 17-19 OF THE REVISED
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF BROOKINGS, SOUTH DAKOTA, PERTAINING TO
THE BOARD OF NEALTH,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF BROOKINGS,
SOUTH DAKOTA, THAT SECTIONS 17-18 and 17-19 OF THE REVISED
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF BROOKINGS BE AMENDED AS FOLLOi9S,
TO-�YIT:
I .
Section 17-18 . Term of Office
The members of the Board of Health shall be appointed for
staggered terms , with one (1) member appointed for a one
( 1) year term, two� ( 2) members appointed for a two (2) year
term and two (2) members appointed for a three (3) year term.
Upon expiration of an appointment , a member may thereafter
be appointed for an additional term of three (3) years .
II .
Section 17-19 . Vacancies
Should a vacancy occur in the Board of Health during the
appointed term by the death, removal or inability of any
member thereof to perform the duties of their office, the
city commission shall appoint a member to fill such vacancy
for the unexpired portion of the term of the vacated
member.
III .
Any and all ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed.
